How to Reset your Domain Email Password

If you have a custom domain name, you probably have custom email for the domain name. If you don't have custom email accounts for your domain name you can purchase them through the Email section of premium services.

If you have lost the password to your domain email, you can reset the password as long as you have access to your webs.com account where the email was set up. You can reset it by logging into your Webs account and changing the password from within the email manager. You do not need to know the current password to make this change as it can only be reset from within your account.

Note: when you access your email's webmail address you may see an option to retrieve your password. This option will not work. You will need to reset the password through your webs.com account in the Email section of Premium Services.

Setting your Domain Email Password

When you create a mailbox you also set the password for that mailbox.

You can change the password at any time through the Domains & Email Services section of your Dashboard.

How to change your Domain Email password

  1. Log into your Webs.com account
  2. Click on the "Dashboard" tab at the top of the site builder

  3. Click the "Domains & Email" drop down and select "Email"
  4. Select the domain to manage from the drop down by the arrow. Next to the user who's password you need to change click the link that says "Change Password"

  5. Change the password.

    The password must: 
    be 8-20 characters and can not start or end in a space. 
    contain at least one of these characters: !@#$%^&*()~`-=_+[]\\{}|:\";',./< >? 
    contain at least one digit [0-9]. 
    contain at least one upper and one lower case letter. 
    not match your login name or email address. The new password cannot match any of the previous 6 passwords used

     

Lost Password for your Webs Account or WebsID?

There is a lost password link on our home page. You will need to enter the email address you used to create your account, or what you have set as your Account Email address in Site Settings. If you do not receive the lost password email within 15 minutes, please check your spam and junk mail settings.
